So here we are, a nice blank slate. Everything has been removed and cleaned up ready to install the new cabinets. A few new electrical outlets were installed, an outlet for the over the range microwave has been installed, and the kitchen is ready to come together.
You will notice some white paint over the area’s where the old tile was. Since I knew we would be installing a glass tile back-splash I wanted to make sure none of the old brown glue showed through. So I leveled out the drywall and painted some white primer to give everything a nice uniform foundation to start with.
Since remodeling a kitchen will often times mean moving plumbing or electrical it’s a good idea to refer to a contractor, plumber, or electrician to handle the work you’re not comfortable or knowledgeable with. Both area’s require a good amount of expertise to handle and it’s not something a first time DIY’er should do. Also your local area could require permits to be pulled depending on the depth of the work you will be doing.
