There really isn’t anything I find more fun than a kitchen remodel. After each little piece you work on you can start to see the finished product, which gives you more motivation to finish it. Needless to say progress is rolling along nicely…..now its time for counters.
So after I did a test fit with the cabinets I ran into a problem. My base and wall cabinets didn’t line up like I wanted them to and still have enough room for the range to slide in. I had 2 options. 1) Build out the soffit on the top, extend it another 4″, drywall, mud, sand, and paint. 2) Replace the lower base cabinet from a 36″ to a 32″.
Pretty easy choice there….the cabinets were switched. Just goes to show why you really need to test fit your cabinets and make sure everything lines up ahead of time. I took multiple measurements afterwards to ensure everything would be the way I wanted and to make sure the range and dishwasher had plenty of room to be installed. Now that those issues were corrected its time to trial fit the counters.
Now it’s time to cut the counters and install them…..
